Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is an ancient, systematic, relaxation practice and guided meditation.
It is highly sought after for it’s ability to reverse stress, improve health, increase well-being and promote full body relaxation.
Just 20 minutes of practice is equal to about 3 hours of deep sleep.
Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra incorporates the ancient techniques of yoga nidra and includes Kripalu yoga core methodologies and yoga therapy components.
All you have to do is become very comfortable and listen.
How does it work?
By exploring deeper levels of awareness, Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra creates the space to come out of “fight or flight,” and allows you to rest into a more fully relaxed experience. You are taken on an ever-deepening journey to Self as you follow along to the sound of Kimberly’s voice. You are guided to use body sensing, breath awareness, guided imagery and other techniques.
As each layer is experienced, you may go deeper and deeper and feel as if you are sleeping. But it is far from taking a nap! Studies have shown your consciousness is actually functioning at a deeper level of awareness, allowing you the opportunity to deeply relax, restore, and connect. This is where the thinking mind is transcended and the wisdom of the true Self is revealed.
This easy and accessible practice uses a systematic approach based on the yogic “koshas,” or sheaths, which in yogic philosophy are layers that cover the true Self. When these layers are pulled back, they are said to reveal the essence of existence, or the bliss layer, giving access to a deeply connected experience without any barriers.
Do I have to be a “yogi/yogini?”
Absolutely not. Everyone and everybody can receive the effects of Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra. This ancient guided meditation technique can be experienced by all. Simply lie down and become as comfortable as you can. You are provided with clear and simple instructions. As you listen, you may feel yourself becoming more and more at rest; experiencing the “falling away” of tension, stress, and anxiety.
Although it may feel as if you are sleeping, studies have shown your consciousness is actually functioning at a deeper level of awareness, allowing you the opportunity to deeply relax, restore, and connect to your inner self.
